I have a profound interest in colour and the history of colour theory, a passion that began with my childhood markings. I devoted significant time to creating art with markers, filling pads with small, irregular blotches in various colour combinations.
Painting is my main work. To realise my artistic vision, I employ a process that involves my photographs, a grid and acrylic paint with both brushes and acrylic paint pens, crafting a distinctive and direct style. I am notably influenced by the Fauvist colour palette and the Impressionists’ use of pure colour to depict light, shadow, and atmosphere in nature.
I have always been keen photographer and take many photographs of my favourite places, people, nature and texture, then I work in Photoshop.
I manipulate my images, to enhance the images
or add different effects, and use my photographs to inform my paintings.
I want to explore other media such as gel prints, collage, lino prints, book making, and drawing in my practice.
